We Need Your Help!!!

The 2009-2010 school year is upon us and it looks to be and exciting and challenging year ahead. The WNHS THUNDER will entertain varsity sports for the first time. This in it's self will be a competitive year, but I know our boys and girls teams are up to the challenge.

Once again the booster club will be managing the concession stands for all sporting events, selling spiritwear and memberships to the booster club. This year with varsity sports, students will enter the events at no cost, but family members will pay to enter the specific venue. Patron memberships to the Booster Club entitle a family of 5 to attend all sporting events at no additional charge! This also enables the Booster Club to maintain the concession stands, spiritwear inventory so that we can give back to the athletic community at WNHS.

This year will be particularly challenging to the athletic teams, as the State of Illinois has reduce or in some cases cut funding. This will be particularly challenging to the coaching staff as they will be lacking the equipment required to compete at a varsity level. The coaching staff will be relying on the Booster Club for funding of required equipment. With the current economic conditions we understand that it has been a tough year on all families of the WNHS community and all pocket books are lighter. We ask for your generosity and promise that it will benefit the student athletes of WNHS. BE A BOOSTER!

2009 Thunder Golf Classic

The 1st Annual Thunder Golf Classic was a success despite the Rain, Thunder and Tornado! Despite the weather conditions we raised $8,000 and all participants had a great time. Al Jensen's foursome took the the trophy for year one and will defend his title next year. Thank you top all participants, sponsors and silent auction donors YOU are the ones who made this event successful.
